When planning to build a steel structure factory building, we cannot construct blindly. It is necessary to be familiar with the local environment. Fort Worth, Texas, sits within the North Central Texas Coastal Plain, presenting a generally moderate climate but with conditions requiring careful consideration. Wind is a consistent factor, with average speeds around 10-15 mph, but occasional gusts can reach higher intensities, particularly during thunderstorms, necessitating robust structural anchoring. Snowfall is infrequent and typically light, averaging less than 3 inches annually, but sudden freezes are not uncommon. Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, averaging around 35 inches. Temperatures fluctuate significantly, with summer highs frequently exceeding 95°F (35°C) and winter lows dipping below freezing. While Texas isn't a high-earthquake zone, minor tremors are occasionally felt; the region's seismic activity is generally low, but design must account for potential ground movement. We must refer to these important environmental information as the first step of construction.

Strong pillars for structures can be made in a few different ways. Think about buildings, bridges, or even playground equipment – they all need strong supports! These supports, called pillars, often use round steel pipes. There are two main types of these pipes: welded steel pipes and hot-rolled seamless steel pipes. Welded pipes are made by joining sheets of steel together. Seamless pipes, on the other hand, are made from a single piece of steel, meaning there are no welds. Imagine building a LEGO tower. You could use bricks that are glued together (like welded pipes), or you could use one long, solid LEGO piece (like seamless pipes). Both can hold the tower up, but the solid piece might feel a little stronger. Both options work for pillars, providing the necessary strength and stability for various construction projects.
